Kitchen screen: stages, accepting orders and sound

How the kitchen screen works: the "Cooking" and "Ready" columns, accepting and rejecting QR orders, sound, and what the cook can see.

Order stages

The kitchen screen opens by the link in "Workplaces" → "Kitchen screen". It has two columns: "Cooking" and "Ready". The "Ready" button moves an order to the second column, and "Picked up" removes it from the screen; in the log the order stays as "Handed out". The time on a card shows how long the order has been in its current stage.

QR orders: accept or reject

Guests' hall orders gather in the "Awaiting confirmation" strip above the columns (when "In-venue orders go to the kitchen" is on).

  1. "Accept" — the order moves to "Cooking".
  2. "Reject" — a bar "Order #… rejected" with an "Undo" button appears for a few seconds. If you do not press it, the rejection is final.

If a delivery order has no price yet, "Accept" is inactive: the register will enter the price. Pre-orders for opening time (when enabled) wait in a separate "Pre-orders" strip with the time "for …". Orders from the register and orders paid online go straight to "Cooking".

Sound and look

The bell in the header turns on a sound for new orders. A browser allows sound only after a tap, so turn it on at the start of the shift. Next to it is "Light theme" / "Dark theme".

What the kitchen sees

The kitchen sees the dishes, the table, the comment, the "Paid online" mark and the cashier's dish notes (when "Dish notes" is on). For delivery, only the distance. The guest's phone and address are not on the screen. Open orders and orders of the last day are shown.

Canceling

The "×" button on a card asks "Cancel this order?". The kitchen cannot cancel an order that is already handed out. It cancels a paid one only if the owner turned on "The kitchen can cancel paid orders" — and always with a reason.
