Page languages and the original language
How to set the language your menu is typed in and choose the languages your guests can switch between.
Guests switch language with a button above the menu. Names and descriptions in other languages are typed by you or translated automatically.
Turn languages on
- Open "Menu settings" → "Language and money". Menus → Menu settings → Language and money
- In "Language the dishes are typed in" choose the language you write the names in. If you leave "Not set", guests see the word "Original" in the switcher instead of a language name.
- Under "Languages the guest switches between" tick the languages you need. The original language is not offered in this set: there is no point in translating it into itself.
- Changes save by themselves. The number of translation languages is limited: once the limit is reached an extra language cannot be ticked, so untick one to choose another.
What happens next
- As soon as at least one language is chosen, the "Translations" tab appears. There you type translations or start auto-translation. Menus → Translations
- An unticked language disappears for guests, but its translations are kept: tick it again and they are back.
- The service's own labels, such as the basket, search and days of the week, switch to the chosen language by themselves. You only translate what you wrote: dish names and descriptions, categories, the venue header.
- While a line is not translated, guests see the original.
- Once languages are chosen, an "Order language" block also appears in this section: the language in which staff read an order.
Currency
In the "Money" block of the same section you set the "Currency" and its "Position": "After the price" or "Before the price". Do not type the currency into the prices themselves.
