Venue statistics: how to read the numbers
What the menu statistics and page traffic blocks show, how to pick a period, what is not counted here and how to reset the data.
The "Statistics" section answers two questions: what guests do in the menu and where they come from. It is available on plans with statistics; on other plans the item in the side menu has a lock, and the screen says statistics come with higher plans.
Menu statistics
At the top of the screen there are three lists for a period that is written above them.
- "Sections" go from the smallest number to the largest: at the bottom are the ones guests never scroll to. Consider moving them up or merging them with others.
- "Dishes" show how often a dish appeared on screen. The green number with a plus is how often it was added to the basket.
- "What guests searched for" lists the words typed into the search. If guests look for something the menu lacks, that is a hint of what to add.
While guests have not opened the menu you will see "Nothing yet". You can switch the block off with the "Menu statistics" toggle in "What the menu does". It holds only counts, nothing about the guests. Menus → Menu settings → What the menu does
Page traffic
Below comes "Page traffic". The button with a calendar sets the period: "Today", "Yesterday", "Last 7 days", "Last 30 days", "This month", "Last month", "All time" or your own dates.
- Open "Statistics" in the venue's side menu. Statistics
- Choose a period with the calendar button.
- Switch between the tabs: "Overview" ("Pageviews" and "Visitors"), "Entries", "Countries", "Cities", "Referrers", "Devices", "Operating systems", "Browsers", "Languages", "UTMs".
In "Referrers" and "Entries" a source may be called "Direct" (the address was opened directly) or "QR Code". "UTMs" are useful if you put tags into your advertising links. The "Entries" tab can be exported to CSV and JSON. If nothing happened in the period, it says "There are no statistics available for this date range".
What is not here
Statistics hold no guest names or phone numbers: they are counters and summaries. There are no orders or revenue here either; they are in the "Orders" section.
Resetting the data
The "Reset…" button opens a window with three options: "Views and behaviour" (orders are not affected), "Test orders without money" and "Everything". The last one is only for the owner and asks you to type the page address. What is deleted cannot be brought back.
