Accepting card payments: connecting a bank

How to connect a bank, enter the keys, check the connection and turn on card payment on the menu page.

The guest pays by card on the bank's page and the money goes to the venue's account: the service takes no part in the settlement. Only the owner of the page connects a bank and enters the keys. The section is available on plans with card payments; on other plans you will see a description of the feature.

Connecting step by step

Open "Card payments". Three steps are shown at the top: "Bank", "Bank application", "Keys".

  1. In the list of banks press "Connect" next to the one you need. The venue must have a business account with that bank. The first bank you connect becomes the primary one.
  2. Fill in "Venue legal details": legal name, identification number, address, phone and email for customers, refund period. Press "Save details".
  3. In "Send this to the bank" copy the menu address, the address for payment notifications and the description of the settlement scheme, with one button in Georgian or in English, and paste them into the bank application.
  4. In "Venue legal page" read the text, tick the box and press "Publish the page". It is a template, not legal advice, so check the wording. A link to the page appears at the bottom of the menu.
  5. When the bank issues the keys, enter them in the bank's fields and press "Save keys". Saved keys are shown as dots; press "Replace" to change them.

Checking and turning on

  1. Press "Check". The check pays nothing: it only asks the bank whether it accepts your keys.
  2. After the answer "The bank answered, the keys work", the "Turn on" button becomes available. Press it and the pay button appears for guests.
  3. To stop accepting cards, press "Switch off". The keys stay in place.

There is no separate test payment in the dashboard. To see the guest's path, open your menu on a phone and go as far as placing an order.

What the guest sees

The guest chooses to pay by card, goes to the bank's page and pays. The order reaches the kitchen already paid. If venue orders go to the kitchen, the setting "How guests pay in the venue" lets you choose: "Pay on site", "Guest chooses" or "Online only".

Menus → Menu settings → Order taking → In the venue

A second bank is optional. It helps when a payment must go through even while the primary bank is not answering: turn on "Fallback to the backup bank".
